Starting out at BP, Fear of Posting

Hello BP Nation!
This thread is to the active membership here on BP and for the benefit of the new members who come to our site, as well as all of us.

It has been brought to my attention from several members who are new to the site that they have a "fear of posting" either questions or comments. Their fear stems from getting hammered from others or feeling like their question is too stupid to ask. Others feel they do not know enough to comment on things.

I want to make it very clear that ALL of US as BP Members should take into consideration when posting or commenting to a new member, that they may not have the "thick skin" it takes to be in this buisness (YET) and we should approach each of these situations with a bit more compassion and understanding. Until they devlop the thicker skin, we should be more careful in our comments and how we answer their questions. Don't be condescending, don't be sharp, and don't be a smart azz. These types of responses are scaring some of our new members away and I for one (and Josh for another) don't want that to happen.

As a long-time and active BP member and poster, I have been involved in many heated conversations, have taken on attacks, and have thrown some punches myself. New members to this site may come across these threads and could be scared away from making their own posts and engaing in BP threads. None of us want that to happen. BP is only as strong as its membership and that membership MUST stay active and engage in conversations.

I request that all members please take the time to not only just welcome new members to the site, but make a special effort to write them a brief message, encouraging them to stay active and that engaging in conversations is the best (and Only) way to get educated and get experience in the topics that interest them.

If we can get more new members to stay, have them engage, have them become successful, we all benefit as we now have more opportunities to do more bussiness with more people.

To the new members of BP - THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A STUPID QUESTION HERE! Do not be afraid to ask even the most simpliest of things. Asking questions is how you get answers and answers is how you get educated. Also, DO NOT expect that just because you make a profile and become a member that business will just fall in your lap. This business is no different than any other, it takes time, effort, and a ton of work. Be willing to put forth the effort it takes and stay committed to reaching your goals. I am 100% positive that if you stay active here and engage in conversations, you will get to where you want to go. Just look at some of the more prominent members here and you will find out that the ones who are on BP almost everyday, and who are engaging in conversations, are the very same ones who do well in RE. I know of many who started out here on BP, and because they stayed here and engaged, they became successful.

Happy Investing to ALL!
