Any ideas on "working for knowledge, instead of money?"

Hi I recently became interested in becoming an investor, as it seems an attractive retirement plan. After reading a few books (one of them being "Rich Dad Poor Dad" ofcourse) the idea of switching to a job to learn instead of working solely for money seems like a good idea. I've been in construction for years now, and have a good understanding of how home building works both inside and out.. I would highly appreciate if anyone wants to share, or recommend a move for me, that would up my understanding of the market, and the overall process of buying, selling, finding good deals etc... Would becoming a real estate agent/ broker be a good step forward? Thanks much, this is a great tool.

You are in construction, so have you joined NAHB? Go to a few of their meetings and see if that is a good segue into expanding your horizons. Local builders IMO have good insights to the RE market overall.
