Buying my first rental home advice.
Hello, my name is Christian and I am 23 years of age. I've been reading and listening to many podcasts about how to start investing in real estate and have decided to start looking to purchase a duplex and use this as my first rental home. My idea was to find the best deal and get accepted on an FHA loan to put 3.5% on a down payment and rent the other unit to hopefully, live for free or live for cheap. For now, I have a part time job working about 25-30 hours a week and get paid pretty good. I am still living with my parents but hopefully soon will be purchasing a rental home. I currently live in the Nashville area and as many of you know, Nashville is booming right now! I wanted to reach to all of you wonderful bigger pocket members for any advice and first time experiences you all have overcome. Would love to hear anything that could push me towards moving in this direction a lot faster than what I expect.
Thank you BP members!
