Dumb Forum Question ...

I grant you this is an annoyance, but it's rather a major annoyance.

How come the code to make a post knows how to get back to where you were when you posted, but the code to edit or update a post does not?

When you create a post, it takes you to the end of that thread and to your new post, unless your post "slops over" onto a new page, then it just takes you back to the top of the page you were on when you started the post.

When editing or updating a post, it always takes you back to the top of the thread, as if it doesn't know where you were when you did the edit  or update.

"I Have A Dream ... " that, one day, this will be fixed. Seems a lot to ask, though.

For what it's worth, I just retired from 37 years in IT. If you need some help with modularizing your code and making it reusable, I'd be happy to assist.
