I make a post to a thread and I always forget to click the monitoring box so I quickly click it which leads to a double post. Were in my settings can I have that box checked all the time so I don't have to keep checking that box.

What I do is click "Dashboard" in the upper right, click "Forum" just below that, and select "My Posts" from the drop-down menu. It'll list for you every thread you ever posted in.

Now, if you want to follow a topic you're simply interested in, but haven't posted within, well, then you just have to check the box.
