Contractors to Remodel in NYC

Selena Williams

I have had really bad luck with contractors which is why I’m really trying to house hacking with a turnkey property. However, I’m realizing that’s most likely not going to happen. Does anyone have suggestions for good QUALITY contractors in New York?

My biggest problem I’ve had with contractors is the quality of work. They have finished the project on time and the cost was reasonable but the quality of work truly sucked. And I have friends who have the same complaint with people they’ve hired....

Selena,

The Old Adage you pay for why you get is true. There are a lot of capable contractors out there that just aren’t as skilled as others and doesn’t have anything to do with how long they have been doing it. Also speed and quality don’t always live in the same place. You need to find more talented carpenters if you want the quality to go up and you will most likely pay more for that persons skill set. Ask to see images of previous work and that will be a good start.
