So I just moved to Selah, Washington looking to by a fourplex that need a little work but need to find a good contractor. So my question is what do I look for and what should I ask or see when I get bids. Any advice or tips would be appreciated. Thank you

I would get multiple bids from different contracting crews to compare and contrast.  Make sure they come out, you meet them in person and ask them questions that are important to you.  The big thing for me is do they show up on time?  Do they deliver the bid when they promised it (I always ask when they will be able to send over a bid)?  I would ask for references, and I'd ask for them to itemize the bid so you can see how much each item costs.  I've used Thumbtack in the past with pretty good success.  I look for any tradesperson on Thumbtack that has a 4+ rating with 10-15 reviews.  If there are any one star reviews, I take a look at it and see what the issue was (sometimes people online are unrealistic and just salty).  Good luck finding a contracting crew.
