Federal Pacific Panels

Hello,

This may be a stupid question but are all Federal Pacific Panels, Stab-lock? I am closing on a building tomorrow that had Federal Pacific and they were supposed to replace them before we close tomorrow. They replaced all but 2 and said that those are not Stab-Lock. I had requested that they all be replaced so I am asking for a credit to complete this but not sure if they need to be replaced.

Thanks!

Melissa

No, FPE used to make breaker panels and fuse boxes that are not Stab-Loc.
The Stab-Loc panels are easily identifiable by the red colored breaker handles (though some breakers may have been replaced/upgraded at some point).

FYI, all FPE panels are considered old and due for replacement, but only the Stab-Loc ones are covered by the CPSC recall/recommendation.

Good luck!
