How long should it take to get rehab estimates from a GC?

I'm curious how long it takes most of you to get a rehab estimate from a GC? Is this something I should expect on the sport? In 1-2 days? In a week or more?

Typically a full line item bid takes about 2 - 3 days to complete for a average rehab, I will say that if everything is coming out meaning all HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical as well, the bid may take an additional day or so. It is extremely important to have a complete understanding of specific building codes which can differ from city to city so a contractor pulling permits may need to clarify materials to be used with local building codes. Also it is important to note that there is no cookie cutter approach to quality bids. Each property is unique and it is always a good idea to have and approved finish list for your contractor highlighting specific sku numbers when available or ask for a labor only bid. The more communication on the front side of the bid will likely shorten the turn around time.
