Multiple State License for Hotel Contract
Hello Fellow Contractors, I got invited to a unique opportunity today, the job requires for our company to work out of state, which we haven't done a lot of out of states (only ranges less than $40k), this might be a scalable business with 4,000 door (100-150 per unit) motel/hotel.
I am wondering what is the best way to get licensed in 11 states? I am trying to be creative and thinking out of the box without weighing legal issues. Here are my options:
1. Can the owner, obtain the permits, buy materials, and just sign labor contract?
2. Get a subcontractor to do it and just manage it from here?
3. Joint Venture with a local contractor, who is fully licensed and insured, and give him 10% of the work and charge me accordingly. Bring my labor force who can do the job with speed.
Any other thoughts? Much appreciated.
We are licensed in CA, but the potential business expands to Alabama, Missouri, Nevada, Illinois, Michigan, Arizona, Minnesota, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina.
