Have I been quoted too much for 2023 on Windows? ($27-$37k)

I had 3 estimates done from what looked like the best rated window guys I could find on Google Maps (I don't know where to get any references).

They all quoted me between $26k and $37k for 10 1st floor windows and 8 tiny basement windows.  Thats minimum $1500 a window.  Is this way out of line or the way things go now?

@Daniel Dem nobody can say with any intelligence because you didn't give us any details on Scope Of Work, so it could be cheap, dirt cheap, right on, over priced or wildly over-priced, only the details on SOW is going to lend insight.

Is it a historical reno job, a hazmat related work, inserts or full-frame replacement, with what window types, sizes, double or triple pane, etc etc etc....

All you really said here was "I went to buy a car, checked at 3 dealers, they all said $60k, is that over-priced?", I don't know, is it a Lambo or a Pinto?

I think in his case he's shopping for simple snack @whole foods, while same snack available @grocery outlet, but whole food has 5 star rating in amazon, right LOL

Is the wholefood a robbery ? no? but on top of the actual snack, you pay 30-40% additional layer of cost (cleanliness, parking ,reviews, feels of luxury and so on).

Similar price from 3 separate GC's would argue it's more condition of SOW based than some "fluff" on price.

Windows are not a universal, singular thing. There is massive differences in how they can be built, what built with, that will wildly change cost of materials. And in same vein, different situations can wildly vary install prices.

For example, a "simple" window replacement job, but frames completely rotted out, maybe termite damage, leading to a full-frame tear-out and repair/mitigation job just to get it back to a RO that can be installed. Just way too many variables to infer any meaning from such a spec of info.

But what do I know, I'm just some schmuck who owned a window/door company, I am sure someone with the in-depth knowledge of 3 or 4 window jobs will come on here to correct me, lol.

Side note: One time I got dumb and installed my own windows in a property that had warranty on glass breakage, and dumb part was I told the tenant. Wouldn't ya know it, the window was busted within a week of move-in. Tenant said someone randomly just threw a rock thru it. There kid said Dad lost key so figured, it's got a warranty, and threw a rock thru it to get in.

Warranty good, telling tenant about warranty, bad, lol.
