FHA Contractor recommendations

Brian Campe
Posted

Hey I'm in the process of purchasing a property with an FHA loan and I'm looking for a local contractor that is familiar with FHA requirements. I am sure the FHA appraiser will have some issues they want taken care of and I want to have someone lined up to be able to put together a quote quickly, but also knows how to work with the FHA. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

    @Brian Campe

    I suggest using contractors that have verifiable experience with the 203k or at the very least have been properly educated on the 203k and have verifiable financial resources to afford the start up costs and ongoing expenses associated with the 203k.

    There are contractors out there with the accreditation as a Certified 203k Contractor and these will probably be your best option. The site with the directory of these contractors has a pretty good FAQ section on the 203k.

    Hope this helps!
