FHA Loan for multi family

Posted

Hello,

My wife and I are looking into buying a multi family property and house hack so we can live in one unit and rent out the other. We live in Southern California and so houses are pretty expensive. We were hoping to get an FHA loan and pay 3.5% down. However, I just spoke with a representative from Quicken loan and he said that the minimum deposit for a two unit property is 10% is this true for all FHA loans or is there someway to get to the 3.5% down. We are also first time home buyers and have pretty decent credit.

Thanks for the help.

I would stay away from Quicken. I have had clients who had terrible experience in the past with them.
