Reverse Mortgage on Property?

Hi everyone! I am in contact with a friend whose deceased uncle owned a property that has a reverse mortgage from 2009 for $258,000. I'm trying to find out if this deal is even worth spending time on. Is anyone familiar with reverse mortgages and how they work? If so your input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!
