Moving as a small business and trouble financing

I am a small business owner with some capital saved up but will be moving in three months and will be starting over.

I've been told that when I move I will have to wait two years to get a mortgage as I am a small business owner. I don't want to wait that long as I have been doing my homework for the past year or so and am ready to buy as soon as I find a good deal.

Has anyone had experience with this and how did you deal with it? I really don't want to wait two years to start REI.
