Loan products for leasehold condos in Hawaii

Rob Hilton
Posted

Anyone have information on loan products for leasehold properties in Hawaii?  I'm hearing that cash is the only option on leasehold condos in STVR permitted areas such as Waikiki, or Kailua-Kona on the big island.  Just trying to find another way to purchase a leasehold outside of cash.  Many Thanks.

Aloha Rob the first step for leasehold STR property loan is to find out how long does lease has left? The lender preferably looking for over 30 years lease left, if it is less than that— say 20 years left the lender may offer you a 15 years mortgage conventional. I hope that helps.
