Starting off in Mortgage brokerage ?

Wasn't sure who to reach out to about this and when I found this forum figured it was worth a shot.

I am a first-time investor and while connecting with people across my network a friend of mine, a mortgage broker, offered to mentor me as he is also an investor. He also, if I would be interested in doing some loan origination for him. I am still not sure if this is what I am looking to do, however, it seems this job would be a good way to learn more on the financial side of the deal.

Looking for advice on if this is a position that is worth taking? If you have or currently work as a mortgage broker/lender, or you are an investor that has any advice or tips for working as or with a mortgage broker, I would love to hear your thoughts.

@Hartley Schwartz Try reading The Bankers Code. It's a great book that breaks down lending. I got my real estate license first and then my LO license. I use my loan license more today; I like the freedom to travel, but I also love listing properties for my investors and rehabbing. It just really depends on what you want your day to look like.
