Do you do real estate agent work remotely in another state?

I'm wondering first if there are people who have active positions in other states than the one they live in and second, what are your experiences working like this? Would you recommend it and what would you say to someone looking into doing this?

Asking for a colleague. We understand that doing real estate remotely wouldn't be the best idea in some people's opinions but we're just looking for examples of people who ARE making it work.

I do this @Brendon K.!  I'm licensed in Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland as well as in Nevada where I serve the Reno/Tahoe markets.  The upside is that you can cast your net wide, however, the downside is that you've got multiple state licenses that have continuing education (CE) requirements and of course costs of joining local boards, etc. depending on whether their in very different locations.  It's also important to start building a team, or at least have other agents lined up that you can share the work with or to send referrals to.  This can be more difficult to work with depending on the size & locations of your brokerage, however, with eXp Realty, it's easy as we have remote offices and so our service areas are seemingly borderless!  Would be happy to answer any specific questions you may have.
