How to pay realtors?

Hello BP members,

I am working with a realtor to find deals. This realtor suggested to go to auction houses and ask owners (or present tenants) to show the inside of houses and participate in auction if I like. He will come with me to visit houses and help with auction, too.

I have not done this type of deal, and this is my first time working with him. It sounds like pretty good idea, but i cannot help thinking what the realtor gets in this? Or how much do you pay realtors for this type of service? Am I missing some sort of hidden fees?

I will appreciate if you share your thoughts and experience.

Thank you!
