What to ask in your first meeting with a broker as a new realtor

Joseph Bezjak

I have recently passed my realtor exam. I’m meeting with my broker and assistant broker Tuesday. They said to bring questions and goals to the meeting. What are good questions to ask? My goal is to be able to sustain my living by being a realtor (about 1-2 houses a month) and I’d like to be able to live-n-flip and brrr.

@Joseph Bezjak- here's a few:  What kind of agent support do you offer?  training? leads? mentoring?  What commission split would I begin with and how can I advance to higher splits?  Will I be required to sit 'floor time', 'desk duty'?  (i.e., different locations call it different things, however, it's basically sitting a desk and waiting for calls or walk-ins!). Will you provide business cards, signs, marketing materials?  What kind of additional monthly expenses might I expect?  How does your Brokerage compare to others in the area?  i.e., what is your 'Market share"?  Do you offer anything for bringing in new agents?  (i.e., after I'm on board)., do you offer stocks? (i.e., if the company is publicly-traded) Do you offer healthcare options?  Do you have minimum performance requirements?  Do you require regular 'office' time or attendance at monthly meeting?   -hope this helps.  What state are you licensed in?
