Washington DC (Quantico/Woodbridge) Realtor

Looking for a real estate agent that can find a single family home deal in the Woodbridge/Lorton/Quantico area!

Will be moving to Northern Va area in about a year, am active duty military, and will be looking for a single family house. Is it still possible to find something I can lightly renovate (countertops, new appliances, paint, redo a bathroom) and make some money or are all of those deals gone? Looking to live in the house for a couple of years, then, of course, move again because I’m in the military. Would like to hold on to the house and rent it.

Currently have one rental property and have issued one private loan.

Thanks!

I think the best thing you said is "live in the house for a couple years." If you purchase in one of these areas, I think you will see some nice potential appreciation, while paying down your equity (try to house hack if you can and really reduce those monthly expenses) and then turn it into a long term rental.

Make sure you are evaluating the house as a rental NOW and in the future. If the Monthly rent doesn't support the PITI (principal, interest, taxes, insurance) now, I would suggest not purchasing !

Good luck.
