Switching to a Real Estate Agent as a career

I have been in the same career for my entire adult life and am looking for a change. For the past couple of years I’ve been interested in getting my license and becoming real estate agent as owning a couple of rental properties has intrigued me to learn more about real estate.

I am hoping to get a few words of advice from agents who successfully transitioned from a non sales career into a real estate agent and if they jumped in head first or eased out of their previous profession and started part-time.

Additionally, what are the one or two things that contributed to your success as an agent?
