How tough is it to become an agent in the LA / Southern California area? Where in the West Coast would you recommend for someone to get their license and get started?

@Eddie LeGrand-Sawyer Thanks for the insight. Did you have any trouble finding a suitable brokerage after you passed the exam? And once you did, how did you find leads, was it all through the brokerage or thanks to your network as well?

I considered 3 big name national brokerages and ended up going with one in Marina Del Rey. The reason was because the office broker was welcoming and asked me to join her team immediately. Once I joined, I found most of my leads through hosting open houses. A few referrals came from friends and family as well.

Again, my recommendation would be to join a team at a brokerage and host as many open houses as you can. Any buyer that tours the open house and is not represented by an agent could potentially become your client for that home purchase or another property you find them. Please message me if you have any questions about getting started. I am here to help.
