Agents, What Marketing is Working for You?

As time is winding down and its getting closer to me receiving my license I see myself analyzing what other agents seem to be doing right and wrong(in my eyes) regarding marketing.

I know the quick and easy answer would be 'Social Media' but I'm finding that a lot of the agents attempts at social media are met with low amounts of connections, meaning less than 100 fans on their facebook fan pages, lop sided following/followers on twitter, meaning they follow 5000 but only 100 follow them.

One of the biggest and quickest turn offs for me is arriving to an agents website and it looks like everyone else's(your standard RE agents website), has no real call to action. Their 'blog' section is merely re-posts of some site they have automatically programmed to pull posts from(I forgot what those are called) and their facebook/twitter icons are super small at the bottom of their page. When you click on them, they have virtually no activity whatsoever within the last 12 months.

I know there are your standard forms of advertising which is saturated by other agents and you're all fighting with each other over it.

I have some ideas I'm going to put together and formulate what I believe will be successful in marketing but I'd like to hear some other strategies that are working for you in your market.
