Who has built a successful business working with Investors

Hello my fellow BP'ers!   Really easy question and I hope all that apply can share their insight.

I have made the decision to focus on building my business around investors. I'm taking the B2B approach and considering I plan on investing in the very near future, it's an excellent opportunity to learn while I earn. 

I simply would like to know who has built a successful business working mainly with investors? What are the pros and cons? Care to share how you network and lead generate?   Thank you so much in advance and any answer will be extremely fruitful!
