How do you approach people in your Sphere of Influence that do not live in your local area?  I've moved a number of times over the years and while I know a lot of people, unfortunately only a small percentage of them are in the area I'm now living and working.

How (if at all) do you network with those people?  Is there a good way to let them know what you are doing?  Is there a way that they can be helpful to you from 1, 3, 5 hours away?

Thanks for your thoughts.
