What's the best piece of advise you'd give new RE agents?

Hi everyone,

I just passed my Illinois broker's test a week ago and I recently joined KW. I have a FT job at a  bank but I'm planning on devoting at least 40-50 hours a week to my real estate career.

Can anyone give me an idea of how much volume do brand new agents sell the first 1-2 years? I want to set very aggressive goals  but I'm not sure where to start (or how to start). What activities/tasks produce the better results? What advise would  you give to a  new   agent?

Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

@Daniel Moctezuma I totally can relate to be scared about quitting the security of a long term full time job.  I held on to my "9-5" for nearly 3 years before eventually quitting. I had the opportunity to take a demotion at my "9-5" to go PT and did that for over a year in order to give me some additional piece of mind.  After converting over to a RE agent full-time for over 3 years, I now realize that I should have quit the "9-5" right away.  I strongly believe that holding onto the "9-5" for as long as I did has actually cost my RE business money and growth potential.  I'm much happier now in my current position.

What I eventually did to get over my fear of financial security was to get my family on a budget and save up 6 months of my monthly expenses.  Once I had that, I quite the job and never looked back.  It was that 6 months of buffer that kept me from freaking out.  I lost very little sleep during those first few months after I quit the "9-5".

Best of wishes
