I am interested in getting my real estate sales person license, and I wanted to see if anyone had a good recommendation for an online ONLY school to get the required classes to sit for the Ohio exam.

I just read that, in order to get a license in Ohio, a person needs to be sponsored by a broker. Is that information correct? I'm not interested in being a sales agent for a company (such as century 21), but just want it for the education and access to the MLS etc... I also want to get the license now, during my education process before attempting our first buy and hold or flip. Point being, we don't have connections with a broker. And I doubt I'd get a recommendation from one without first being hired by a company to do sales. Correct? Or am I missing something? How do other flippers/investors in Ohio get their license with the need for a broker being part of the equation?

Correct.  You can take the classes without a broker.  But, to take the test and have your license active you'll need a sponsoring broker.

And... if you want access to your local MLS you'll also have to pay the fees (every year) to your local associations and be a member of NAR.

If you have no interest in selling, then you might be better off becoming friends with a few agents who can set you up on their auto-notification system for houses.  And, you can let them know exactly what you're looking for so if they hear about a housing that's coming on the market, but not on the market yet, they can let you know.
