20yr old + ADVICE to build my Network and Connections in Illinois(Just Moved to Ill)
Hello, I got some great responses on my previous post on how to start as a 20yr old real estate agent (please feel free to reply on that post if you have any tips or advice). One of the many important tips was building my network and connections. I understand how important networking is however how can I provide value through my conversations to professionals when I meet them in events as I am still young and in my mind I feel like they also see me as a kid. How can I leave a great impression when talking to professionals and be able to have them as a connection and not not just have a one time talk. I want to have those professionals as connections and of course I understand it is not an easy thing. I want to also build great knowledge of my real estate market and in general real estate so I can be able to communicate effectively and seem to be knowledgeable of what I am talking about. THANKS!

Hey! Great questions to be asking. If you have a good support system, that is good to bring up. When I started, I would often show my value in responsiveness coupled with the fact I have a top producing broker at my firm that is my direct trainer. (this depends on your brokerage setup). I was able to say that I will out-work any other agent and if there is a question I don't know the answer to, I have an 18 year top producing vet at my fingertips that will pickup my phone call right away 95% of the time, and if she couldn't pickup, she would reach back out every time. I offered "the drive of a new agent and experience of a top producing veteran."
Most importantly show them your value with your actions. It really is about the drive so find out their problem and work to solve it. Show your clients you care and follow through on that commitment. Be trustworthy and maintain your integrity.
