Brainstorming ways to market myself
Hey everyone,
I am a new agent in NYC. I’ve been working as a consultant/expeditor in the city for 7 years. I’m trying to brainstorm ways to leverage the knowledge I have of the inner workings of the building industry to make use of my salesperson license and market myself as an agent. I’ve seen so many transactions fall through due to financing issues caused by open permits/violations on a property, and if anyone here is familiar with NYC you will know how complicated and time consuming dealing with the bureaucracy in NYC is.
Are there any experienced agents on here that can chime in here? Any idea if this experience I have can be leveraged and any ideas for marketing myself? Or have you had any experiences in the past where having this sort of knowledge would have been helpful?
Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

You may have stumbled upon your niche!
1. To market yourself, I would suggest presenting briefings at local REIAs and providing social media videos and posts about how real estate investors can successfully navigate rehabs without these delays.
2. I recommend getting a DiSC assessment and focusing your efforts based on your personality type. Some real estate schools provide feedback on these assessments and the best way to market yourself. The real estate pre-licensing school I went through provides this.
3. You can use sites like Propstream to identify cash buyers and provide direct mailers. You can build a site that provides information (even free guides) that helps investors address these issues. Additionally, you can partner with other investing sites in your local area.
I think you're onto something. I'm finding that the more specific your niche, the better you can establish a unique marketing position that allows you to differentiate yourself from other real estate agents.
I hope this helps.
I wish you all the best.
