Choosing an Agent: Established Relationship vs Local…help

Posted

Hi! I have been talking to an agent in a western state and absolutely love them. So helpful (and I found them through the BP Agent Finder). After they connected me with a lender, I realized I needed to pivot strategy for a minute and look in a cheaper area.

The agent and lender I’m talking to are also licensed in the Midwestern state that I’m looking at and they invest there too. I plan on eventually going back West when I have the capital and means.

My question is: is it okay to stick with this agent to buy in a different state? I really like them and it could make my pivot to the West smoother. Or should I stick to local agents only when looking to buy? I feel like there is a case to be made for either, but I’d like to hear some more experienced feedback.
