Things to look for in a good Agent - AKA-Building your team

What qualities should you look for in finding an agent? What questions should I ask to vet them?

Over the last 3 months, I have called agencies here in my city and " TRIED " to inquire about multi family properties .

I have spoken to a number of agents, and they say " Let me get back to ya " , yet they never call back!!! That's on properties they've listed!!

I even tried 1 agent several times ,( over these past 3 months ) & he just keeps apologizing cause he's busy. I called him yesterday afternoon & he said he'd call me back this morning at 11 am. I'm still waiting and it's been 5 hours!!! He has several multi family units listed that I'm interested in.

Do I just keep going through all the agents in town till I get someone? ANYONE??!!  Or screen and vet them till I get an agent who really wants to work with me!?

Also, how do I add Prince George, British Columbia, Canada to the " Location " tab?

I am not familiar with Canadian real estate practices. But here in the U.S., the listing agent works for the seller

And successful, high-volume, listing agents generally do not work with buyers.

While this may sound counterintuitive, a listing agent might be able to handle 10 (or 20, whatever their magic number is) listings if the buyers are all represented by buyers' agents. That number would likely be cut in half (at least) if they are trying to represent the buyer and seller in the same transactions. So many of them are, in fact, too busy to work with buyers, and/or have no inclination to do so.

But, even if they would help you, why would you want your real estate agent to be contractually, morally, legally, and ethically bound to represent the best interests of the seller?

My point being: Find one great buyers agent who works with investors and establish a long term business relationship with them, and your path will become much easier.

Hope that helps!
