Ways to Cash-In Without a License

Rob Carmody
Posted

My full-time W2 job does not allow it's employees to get my license and be employed by a brokerage. Is there any way that I can capitalize on my Real Estate knowledge to save money on transactions without actually having my license? e.g. buying without an agent and offering a lower price due to this, FSBO, etc.

I feel like I'm leaving money on the table purely due to my company's policy

@Rob Carmody I believe it's safe to assume that your employer does not want/allow employees to undertake the activities, not doing the activities with a license. I assume a conflict of interest action there. So doing it without a license would probably be even worse.

Using a licensed agent keeps a degree of separation but also a level of accountability to assist in assuring conflict of interest actions.

I'd say either find different employment, or color within the lines because if going out of them, decent chance will be needing to find new employment soon as it comes out, right.
