What should my first few steps in buy and hold look like?

We are looking at buying our first investment property, most likely going to do a live in reno. After we purchase the home and get it all fixed up to our standards where do you go from there?

We are wanting to rent the property, just curious as to what those steps should look like and what should be prioritized first. Thank you for the help in advance!
