Buyers 1st question, "What's the address"

Why is it when I ask Buyers would they be interested in properties in a particular area the first thing they ask is "What's the address"... It irritates me! The reason being is when I got into Wholesaling one of the first lessons taught was NOT to tell the address because they will try to go around you and steal your deal. Is this true or am I just paranoid?

Get the property(ies) under contract and then you won't have to worry about someone "stealing your deal". How do you expect an investor to make a decision and give you an answer (other than "maybe") if they don't know the specific property you're talking about?

It's kinda like going to a car lot and having the salesman ask you if you'd be interested in buying the car. You ask which car, but he says he can't tell you. How are you supposed to know if it's what you're looking for??
