Invest in multi family or single family homes?

Hi everyone! My boyfriend and I are new to investing and haven’t bought anything yet , I think because we’re having a hard time choosing what to buy! Is it better to buy a single family home, or a multi family rental property? In terms of rehabbing, is it easier to rehab smaller units (multi family) vs. a larger single family home? We play devils advocate with each other’s scenarios and keep getting stuck! Help us learn how to decide and make a move !

Multi-family is much easier when it comes to sclaing, rehabbing, etc. however it is much more difficult to find a deal as there are many people trying to enter this space! If you're impatient go single family, if you can wait go multi-family!
