Advice for Finding (and vetting) General Contractors

Hi Everyone!

I'm a beginner here, in the process of securing my first flip. I am wondering if anyone has advice on how to find a good contractor in your area, what kinds of questions you like to ask to make sure they are knowledgeable but not overpriced, what kinds of things might steer you away from one vs another, etc. Like I said, this will be my first property, so ideally I'd like to build a relationship with whoever it is so they can help me on future properties as well.

Any, and all, advice is warmly welcomed!

Thanks everyone!

@Blaine Alger Thats really great advice!! I will definitely do that! I’m up at 4am so 6am is nothing for me (lucky me lol). But seriously, I love that idea and I’ll definitely try it out! Thank you!!
