Thoughts in multiple licenses?

I’ll try to keep this brief, I’m just starting out and currently obtaining my real estate license. My thoughts are that it will give me a solid job that I can learn about my market and other aspects of real estate while I save up for a down payment. After I obtain that license I thought I should acquire a license to be a home inspector or appraiser. To further my qualifications and increase my knowledge on determining the value of a property. Any other skills worth while? Or any I should drop? Real estate and home inspector only take a few weeks so I thought why not.

On the one hand, I think it's a great idea to diversify your income within real estate by getting your broker license and home inspector/appraiser license. On the other hand, as the saying goes the man that chases two rabbits catches neither. It depends on your real estate, lifestyle, and financial goals. Which do you like the most?

You might be at risk of dabbling in a few different professions but not getting good at any of them. After all, you get better at what you focus on.

That being said there's an interesting video of a guy featured on Millennial Money that is both a realtor and appraiser. Search on youtube Living on $280K a Year in Fort Worth, TX.
