Deciding where to invest

Karlo Alamo
Posted

Currently, I live in Bismarck, ND. However, I see there are more options in others states and I know I have the ability to be able to move. So I wanted to ask the experienced community of BP, that once I find a property, would you start by analyzing the state first? the city, or the neighborhood?.

Thanks everyone!

@Karlo Alamo

I would start by identifying your investing strategy. Are you going to invest out of state or are you willing to move? Are you going to try and do a househack, flip, or buy and hold rental?

Then I would identify the market you want to invest in before searching for properties. I feel like by finding houses before deciding what market you want to invest in is putting the cart before the horse.
