Exp -vs- Real Brokerage
Hi All,
So I just completed my real estate course and just waiting to take my RE exam in NY. I've been looking through BP for some insight on what brokerage to look into to have my license when I came across two online brokerages EXP & Real. Both seem great commission wise, however I'm more interested in the mentoring and guidance aspect to ensure I'm providing my prospective clients with the best service. Also I'd eventually like to start investing myself. Does anyone have any experience with either of these brokerages? Any insight and advice is welcome!

Sup @Juan Contreras! Congrats on completing your exam. That's just the beginning! I'm with eXp, and let me assure you it is a REAL brokerage. Yes, it is cloud based, but there are 33000+ agents across the nation so far (13000 more than this time last year), a mentorship program that assigns you a local experienced mentor agent, and ever more local agent teams popping up (I'm part of one).
Agents come to eXp for many reasons. For me, it was two things:
- The ability to get training, mentorship, and support outside of my day job and start working part time (wasn't able to leave my job but wanted to get going!)
- Investor friendly-ness. A lot of investors are at eXp and eXp allows multiple 100% commission transactions a year for personals.
Honestly it depends on a lot of factors, starting with your personal goals. Do you want to start part time? It is mostly for your own investing and sphere? Do you want to join a team (and is there a team with that brokerage near you)? Do you want to be a top producer? How much in person coaching do you desire? How much support and training do you want? Do you want an assigned mentor? Do you want to start your OWN team? What benefits are you looking for?
Hope this helps!
