Abandon Properties

This past weekend I drove around and found four vacant properties. I wrote down the address of each property and went to the county's website to try and locate the owners' name. I got one hit form the site, and now I'm at a loss as to where to look next. I'm hoping that one of these properties is my first deal. Any advice to offer

Put a "FOR SALE sign in the front yard with YOUR phone number on it...the owner will call you.
