Real Estate License?

Hi all,

I'm interested in Real Estate investing and have thought about getting a license, but don't know if it is necessary to become a Real Estate Investor. I'm not interested in becoming an Agent and am more interested in becoming an investor. Will having a license give me an edge or not? What are the pros and cons of not getting one?
