I was wondering if anyone had any experience on buying a home near the Poconos in Pennsylvania and renting it out to Air BnB all year around.. is the cash flow good after hiring a property manger and cleaning services? Also you would have to furnish it..

I have two STR in the Poconos. 1 each in Locust Lake Village and Arrowhead Lakes. My experience has been good . Summer is fully sold out and ALL winter weekends are sold out ( ski areas nearby). Spring and fall have around 75% weekend occupancy . Both my properties are 4 bed / 3 bath and gross about $48-52k a year on airbnb. It has been a strong sellers market for the last 12-18 months, but that may change with covid now.

The two issues you need to be aware of are :

1) Finding a good cleaning company is tough. Lot of demand and not enough supply.

2) Utility bills ( especially if you have electric heat) is very high. Our heating bill in the winter average $700-800 / month.

Let me know if you have any other questions , I'd be happy to answer.
