How should I start real estate investing?

Hi BiggerPockets community:

During this unprecedented time, I want to study and take action in real estate investing, and I wonder how I should go about it?

My background: I am in tech, did a few startups and have saved up decent amount of cash reserves. I’m in my early 30s, single with a girlfriend. I’m renting now but my girlfriend and I plan to move in next year.

My goal: get into real estate and invest in multi family property (cash flow property), and grow step and step.

What I have been doing: I’m studying for getting my real estate broker license in Illinois. I’m listening to Bigger Pockets podcast, and try to engage in the Bigger Pockets online communities as well :)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Hope everyone stay safe and healthy during this challenging time!

@Marshall Shen Welcome to BP. You're already ahead of the game by being on here getting valuable information and knowledge. Additionally, network with industry professionals in your area. The social distancing rules we are to follow make it difficult, but this is a great time to join online meetups and webinar. Best of luck.
