First thing to do to get started?

Hi! I am wondering about the best first step in getting started. I've been reading through the BP books, reading forums, etc. but I am still not sure what my first step should be.

I need to find partners to invest, as I don't have a lot of money to put into it myself but I do have time. Making those connections, networking, etc in order to find the money for my first deal is my biggest hurdle so I thought I would address it first. What are the best ways you've sene in terms of networking? Should I invest in starting a local meetup group? Should I buy business cards to hand out? Should I just wait it out another year while working to pay off some debt and save up a bit myself?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
