Just starting out in real estate

Sean Kim
Posted

Hello everyone,

I'm just beginning to save some extra cash and looking to invest it in real estate. I live in Los Angeles CA, and I've never even picked up a book on real estate investing. I do stocks and index funds, but I have no idea where to start for real estate.

My question is what is the best way I can teach myself about rental property investing? Recommendations on books, podcasts, etc. Would be deeply appreciated.

Also, how realistic is it to do this in LA?

Thank you.

Hi Sean -- Welcome to BP! There are a lot of resources here you can use. The BP podcast is great and has a lot on buy and hold strategies. Brandon Turner has a book on real estate investing that is a solid and easy read for new investors.
