Bridge to exit the rat race
Hello BP community,
Two years ago, I started thinking maybe engineering consultant is not for me and how do I get out of the rat race ! That is when I started listening to podcasts and stumble on Bigger Pocket. And then I got the real estate bug when I read “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, It was like I was asleep all those years and I finally woke up!
Today I clearly see real estate my way out of the rat race, I know the road won’t be easy to reach this goal, but I do believe if I stick with it, I can reach the goal. My wife and I live in Chicago, Illinois, we live in a house we recently purchased and have one condominium that we currently renting out. The house we just brought; we did some remodeling before we moved in. Obviously, we made ton of mistakes but it was a great learning experience. Today, my interest is to invest in multiplex buildings, I asked BP for a list of books on this subject and I am in the process of reading them as my first step
My question is how do I build the bridge from my everyday job to being full time investor in real Estate? And more importantly for those who used to work in corporate world, in a job where it has high demand and focus which offers good salary, how did you do it? My biggest concern today is that I am not as driven and as happy as I used to be coming to work in the morning. My real passion is to get out of the corporate world and I can’t see myself doing this for a long time, which puts me in a dangerous spot at my current job.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much for your time.
Zack
