Moving to Columbus Ohio
Hi BP, community,
I am planning on relocating to Columbus Ohio from New York. My plan is to buy a duplex once I relocate but I really don’t know the market. Is it wise to rent for a while and study the market before I buy an investment property and house hack or just buy one once I relocate?

@Benjamin Obeng another option could be to stay at different Airbnb’s in and around Columbus to get a real idea of what it’s like to live in a particular area. Low commitment and not much more expensive than renting. Avoids furnishing a place you won’t live in super long.
