Finding a B or C class neighborhood out of state

Hi everyone,

New member here. I am looking to invest out of state and am wondering if anyone has and tips or tricks to quickly tell if an area is a B or C class neighborhood. I've heard horror stories of people being sold on a C class property that was actually a D class neighborhood. Any help is appreciated!

Fly out there and drive around even if it is just a couple days it is so much more informative than anything you can do from home.  Take notes on the neighborhoods you like and the ones you don't.  This is crucial if you forget this step everything you saw will run together.
