Hello everyone. I am new here. I have been following BP for a little while now. I haven't actually pulled the trigger on anything just yet because I am at a sort of a brainstorming phase trying to align myself with the best route to take.

Getting into a small multi family where I would reside on site appeals to me a lot even though I don't necessarily need to live on site but would work.

I have about 30-40k of my saved money to get started.

The million dollar question is where to start!? I live in New York so I can't do much with that money here.

What state do you guys recommend ? I don't mind having a property manager run the place.

Or would buying a 2 -3 family home here in NY and rent it out work out better?
